Upgrade options

Four ways to upgrade your heating.

You do not always need a brand new boiler to improve comfort. Targeted upgrades to your controls, filtration, and radiator valves deliver immediate efficiency gains with minimal disruption.

01

Smart Controls & Thermostats

Fitted from £120

Control your heating from your phone with Google Nest, Hive or Tado. Set schedules, use geofencing, and cut energy waste by up to 15%.

02

Smart TRVs & Room Zoning

Quoted on radiator count

Thermostatic radiator valves let you heat individual rooms independently. Heat the home office and living room without wasting gas on empty bedrooms.

03

Magnetic Filter Protection

Fitted from £295

An Adey MagnaClean or Fernox TF1 filter captures black iron oxide sludge before it damages your boiler pump and heat exchanger.

04

Central Heating Powerflushing

Starting from £499

Deep pressure cleaning that removes stubborn sludge, clears blocked radiator waterways, and restores full circulation across the house.

RESTORE HEAT FLOW

Chemical flush or a full powerflush?

Cold radiator bottoms and noisy boilers are usually caused by black magnetite sludge. We test your water quality first to recommend the right treatment for your pipework—never pushing an expensive powerflush if a chemical clean is all you need.

The lighter clean

Chemical flush

from £250

Cleaner is circulated through the system by your own pump and left to work, then drained and refilled with inhibitor. Right for lightly contaminated systems and as preparation before a new boiler.

  • Cleaner circulated using the existing system pump
  • Drained, refilled and dosed with inhibitor
  • Radiators checked for cold spots afterwards
  • Usually a half-day job
  • Best for light sludge and newer systems

The deep clean

Powerflush

from £499

A high-flow pump is connected to the system and each radiator is flushed in turn under pressure, with magnetic capture on the return. Right for heavy sludge, cold-at-the-bottom radiators and older systems.

  • High-flow pump connected directly to the system
  • Each radiator flushed individually under pressure
  • Magnetic capture of circulating debris
  • Inhibitor added after cleaning
  • Best for heavy sludge and persistent cold spots

Not every cold radiator needs a flush

We check the valves, system balance, pump, pressure and water condition first. Balancing or valve work is often the actual fix, and it costs a fraction of a flush. We'll tell you which yours is before quoting.

Protect & balance

Three essential steps to keep your heating running efficiently.

Cleaning the water is step one. Adding high-grade inhibitor chemical, fitting a magnetic filter, and balancing radiator lockshields keeps your heating efficient for years to come.

01

Magnetic Filter Protection

Supplied & Fitted £295

An Adey MagnaClean or Fernox TF1 filter is fitted directly to your heating pipework to capture metallic sludge before it reaches critical parts.

  • Protects boiler pump & heat exchanger
  • We show you how to service it easily

02

System Radiator Balancing

Engineer visit from £120

Balancing precisely calibrates lockshield valves across your property so hot water is distributed evenly to every single room.

  • Fixes cold radiators in end rooms
  • Stops radiators roasting downstairs

03

Chemical Inhibitor Dosing

While on site £45

High-grade Sentinel or Fernox protector is added to the system water to prevent corrosion, scale build-up, and future black oxide sludge.

  • Essential after any system drain-down
  • Maintains boiler warranty compliance

Smart heating controls

Control your heating from anywhere.

We supply and fit Google Nest, Hive, and smart thermostatic valves (TRVs) configured properly to your boiler, giving you pinpoint scheduling and automated energy savings.

01

Smart Thermostats, Fitted

Fitted labour from £120

Control heating and hot water schedules from your smartphone. Geofencing turns heat down when you leave home.

  • App setup & walkthrough included
  • Cuts heating waste by up to 15%

02

Thermostatic Radiator Valves

Quoted on radiator count: Free Survey

Smart TRVs let you schedule temperature room by room. We check your existing valve bodies and provide a fixed quote based on your radiator count.

  • Individual room schedules
  • Direct phone app integration

03

Dual-Zone Heating Splits

Tailored: Free Survey

Independent motorised zone valves allowing separate thermostat control for downstairs living areas and upstairs bedrooms.

  • Ideal for multi-storey houses
  • Fixed quote after survey

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Smart controls, magnetic filters & powerflushing questions.

Upgrading your existing heating system can cut up to 15% on energy bills and prevent costly breakdowns without replacing your boiler. Here is how our smart thermostats, room-by-room TRVs, MagnaClean filters, and powerflushes work.

A chemical flush adds high-grade cleansing chemicals to circulate through your system to dissolve light sediment. A powerflush connects a dedicated high-flow machine to dislodge heavy, compacted magnetite sludge from older radiators and pipework.

Yes. We supply, wire, and configure modern smart thermostats and smart thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs), allowing you to control room-by-room temperatures from your phone and cut wasted gas.

Fitted to your boiler return pipework, a magnetic filter traps black iron oxide sludge before it can reach and damage your heat exchanger or pump. Supplied and fitted from £295.

Yes. If your boiler is operating safely, upgrading smart controls, balancing radiator lockshields, and cleaning system water can restore heat flow and cut energy bills at a fraction of the cost of a new boiler.

Yes. All our installation labour comes with a 12-month guarantee, in addition to full manufacturer warranties on smart thermostats, magnetic filters, and radiator valves.
